Lisa Ainsworth is Research Leader of the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service Global Change and Photosynthesis Research Unit and Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois. Her research applies physiological, biochemical, and genomic tools to understand the mechanisms of plant responses to global atmospheric change and environmental stress. She directs the Soybean Free Air Concentration Enrichment (SoyFACE) facility for adapting crops to global atmospheric change. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and currently serves as the Secretary of Section O for the AAAS.
